The department includes four sections: Education, Health, HIV/Aids, Relief and Development.
It is responsible for:
- Advising the diocese on identifying, implementing, monitoring and evaluating development projects;
- Training/basic and advanced of local staff members;
- Advising the sections under the department;
- Advising on preparing financial reports and other administrative documents;
- Preparing a long-term strategic plan for the development of the diocese;
- Managing projects of sections under the department;
- Cultivating partner relations;
- Identifying new partners;
- Initiating assessments and evaluations;
- Representing the diocese in development networks and forums.
Education:
With responsibilities in
- Operating 12 basic schools, partly with kindergarten;
- Employing teachers;
- Collaborating with the Ministry of Education of Western Bahr El Ghazal Reg. State (statistics, plans, reports, secondments, provisions);
- Managing education projects;
- Managing the World Food Programme school feeding and girls’ incentives programmes;
- Maintaining and constructing of school buildings;
- Representing the diocese in education networks and forums.
Health:
With responsibilities in
- Supporting the operation of diocesan health facilities;
- Managing health projects;
- Representing the diocese in health networks and forums.
HIV/Aids:
With responsibilities in
- Leading the diocesan HIV/Aids group;
- Organizing training courses and awareness creation sessions;
- Delegating HIV/Aids group members to attend training courses;
- Managing HIV/Aids projects;
- Representing the diocese in HIV/Aids networks and forums.
Relief and Development:
With responsibilities in
- Managing emergency and relief projects;
- Assisting partners in implementing relief projects;
- Representing the diocese in relief networks and forums.
